Presidium election: Horvath wins NatDir

ALMENKISTAN - On the 16th, elections for the Presidium and National Director (alternatively known as President Primus inter Pares) were ended, with Joseph Horvath being elected as NatDir. These elections resulted in the appointment of the 9th Presidium of the USR, with Johann Kümmel and Gage V. being elected Presidents & Zachary Egret and Benjamin Meadows being appointed to the Presidium.

Candidacy for the Presidium was opened on the 18th of May and lasted until the 27th, with 9 candidates registering under the AUCP. These candidates were Madison Henderson, Antonio Tu Kinh, Benjamin Meadows, Tyler Andrew (who also went by Quilman), Andrew Perdomo, Sean McLoughlin, Gage V. and Johann Kümmel. 

Elections were opened on the 1st of June and ran for 2 weeks afterwards, with a total of 22 people voting in the elections. Early on in the elections, Horvath took a lead, presumably due to votes coming in from Taksovia and the Almendrian Armed Forces. This was followed by Kümmel gaining a good amount of votes due to votes coming in from Novgrod - an Autonomous Republic of the USR - with Drewandyk, its leader, stating that he had “swept” the country in terms of votes.

After the elections were finished, Horvath was elected NatDir with 6 votes (27.27%); Kümmel followed with 4 votes (18.18%). Gage and Meadows were both tied with 3 votes (13.63%), while Henderson and McLoughlin both received 2 (9.09%). Perdomo and Andrew both received 1 vote (4.54%), while Tu Kinh received no votes.

After the end of the elections - including the appointment of the new Presidium - Horvath released a speech via AlmChat,  stating, “The time for inaction and complacency ends now, and together, we shall ignite the flame of our nationalist spirit.” He also listed out the key plans during his tenure, including Almendria’s usage of both AlmChat and Discord, creating a prosperous Union-wide economy, resurrecting the Red Congress and restoring the prior status of the Almendrian Assault Forces.
