Red Congress Elections

Elections for the Red Congress, Almendria’s upper legislature, occurred this month between the 10th and the 13th. Originally supposed to go up to the 12th, the elections were extended due to allegations of rigging. 43 people voted overall.

10 parties contested the elections, with Archbishop Christoph Billung and Gen. Kazzi endorsing the National Monarchist Party, or NMP. (Archbishop Billung also endorsed the Almendrian National Guards, or ANG.) The NMP won the election with 30.2% of the vote. The Central Leftist Unification Party, or CLUP, came in second with 25.6% of the vote, while the Communist Party Almendria had 16.3% of the vote. In descending order, the other parties were the Union of Almendrian Fascists and the Progressive Party (7%), as well as the ANG, the Almendrian Democratic Socialist League and the Progressive-Monarchist Party of Almendria (4.7%). The NMP was awarded four seats, with Antonio, it's leader, becoming Speaker of the Red Congress. The CLUP were granted three seats, while the CUA had two seats and the UAF one seat.
